High Performance Data Warehouse

The RivalWatch Platform acquires, transforms, and loads online competitive price, assortment, and promotions data into a high performance data warehouse. RivalWatch reporting applications then query the data warehouse to produce reports, which are delivered over the Internet. Some customers take advantage of the platform’s data download services to view the data in Microsoft Excel, or import the data into internal inventory or POS applications. The RivalWatch Platform runs on Oracle’s latest database software and is designed from the ground up to use a multi-tenant data architecture, providing customers the many benefits of a true Software-as-a-Service solution.

Online Data Acquisition, Transformation, and Loading

The RivalWatch Platform includes a high performance Web crawler that acquires competitive product and pricing information from Internet storefronts and other online sources. The crawler collects competitive data on tens or hundreds of thousands of SKUs from a virtually unlimited number of competitive retail storefronts, at blazingly fast speeds. Once collected and cleansed, the data is transformed and loaded into RivalWatch’s central data warehouse.

Analytics and Reporting

RivalWatch reports are created from information stored in the data warehouse. The reports enable customers to spot competitive price changes that exceed a pre-defined threshold, identify opportunities to increase prices with reduced risk of lower unit sales, monitor promotions at local and national levels, evaluate assortment uniqueness by category, and measure the price competitiveness of a select group of branded or private label products.

Data Export Services

Customers may choose to export data from any RivalWatch report into Excel or other desktop applications that accept tabbed or comma delimited file formats.
